Support Your Classroom
Consider becoming a Room Parent at Peabody and Watkins or a Grade-level Liaison at Stuart-Hobson. One of the best ways to get to know your child’s classmates is to spend time in the classroom. Parents and grandparents have been spotted helping out in the classrooms by checking homework, collating homework and papers to go home, and anything to assist the teacher so he or she can stay focused on the kids. Talk to your child’s teacher about what kinds of things you could do to make a difference.
Most classes take several field trips during the year and need chaperones to participate. In addition, the FoodPrints program welcomes assistance from parents as the children prep the food… and of course, you get to taste the delicious results.
Be sure to check your children’s folders for important notices and field trip permission slips to find out how you can get involved in your child’s classroom.
