What the PTA Does

Parents and teachers, working with the Cluster School administrative team, partner through the PTA on volunteer opportunities, community events, and fundraising projects to support the Cluster School. See a list of recent PTA Grant Projects Awarded here. These funds – as much as $100,000 in past school years – support a variety of critical activities that supplement the school budget, including:

In the Classroom

  • $100 for each Cluster teacher for classroom supplies and funding for professional development
  • Expand digital learning opportunities with the purchase of computers and maintenance of computer labs
  • Offer curriculum support, including textbooks and Arts Integration
  • Buy supplies for music and art programs
  • Supplement the science program at Stuart-Hobson
  • Provide field trip support for each grade

On Our Campuses

  • Participate in facilities improvement and maintenance
  • Support infrastructure, including copies and computers
  • Expand and refurbish the libraries at all three campuses
  • Maintain the gardens
  • Support selected classroom aides and recess and cafeteria support staff

  • Provide communications tools to keep families connected to the Cluster: listservs, website, newsletter, and student directory
  • Sponsor events, including Walk-to-School Day
  • Hold monthly meetings to share current school initaitives and school system policy changes
  • Coordinate volunteer opportunities
