Dear Parents,

Thank you for your tireless support of your scholar in the Cluster School. We are so lucky to have such a committed family base at the Cluster and I am grateful for all you do to help our children succeed, especially at this very busy time of the year.

I wish I could say that the exemplary education that students experience at the Cluster was possible without additional funding, but it’s just not true.

I hope as you are making your year-end charitable gift decisions, you will put the Cluster at the top of your list.

Last week, twenty-four innovative projects to augment classroom learning were presented by parents and teachers.  Thanks to fundraising so far, we were excited to allocate $28,000 to support ten projects, and identify other resources to fund an additional six.  However, we were disappointed that we could not fund all the grants to the full extent.

I am so pleased to share with you a few of the programs the PTA will support in part with funds raised by parents so far. They include:

  • Peabody/SWS Living Classroom – Peabody:  This grant will fund the first stage of playground enhancements in this exciting project that will extend the classroom to the outdoors and greater interaction with nature.
  • Moving Stories – Watkins:  In this interactive literacy program, teachers use song, movement, sign language and storytelling to explore children’s books through creative drama. This project will significantly enhance reading and writing, and encourage creative expression for the entire second grade.
  • Stuart-Hobson Band – Stuart Hobson:  This PTA grant will provide instruments for additional band members, many, who cannot afford one. Our properly equipped Band will be a source of pride for our students, parents, teachers and our community.

These are just three of the projects the PTA was able to support thanks to the fundraising so far, but we need your help.   A number of parents have already contributed to the Annual Fund with an outright gift to the PTA.  “Many hands make light work,” so the saying goes. If each of our 700 Cluster families gives a gift to the Annual Fund, within their means, we will have enough to fund the additional programs that greatly enhance the education of our scholars.

No gift is too great or small and every gift makes a difference.  If you have not yet supported the Annual Fund, please consider making a contribution before December 31.  You can make your gift online by clicking the “Donate” button below, or make your check payable to CHCS PTA and drop in the PTA mailbox at your child’s school.
