Who do I contact at the school with enrollment questions?

You can call the main lines of each respective school. Emails of our enrollment POCs below:

What grades do your schools serve?

  • Peabody: PK3, PK4, and Kindergarten

  • Watkins: 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th

What are the upcoming enrollment dates?

  • Monday, March 1, 2021: My School DC (MSDC) application deadline for grades PK3-8  

  • Friday, April 2, 2021:

    • MSDC Lottery results are released

    • School year 2021-2022 Enrollment season opens for all families

 

What documents do I need to submit to complete enrollment?


All families will need to complete and submit an enrollment form and proof of residency. Please note the enrollment form for the upcoming school year will not be available until April 2, 2021.

 

New to any DCPS school: you will also need to provide one proof of ages (birth certificate, hospital records, passport or baptismal certificate). Visit https://enrolldcps.dc.gov/ for more information.

How do I know if my address is in boundary or out of boundary to Peabody/ Watkins?

How do I apply to the lottery?

How many schools can I apply to in the My School DC lottery?

For each student, you may apply to as few as one, or as many as 12 schools. The more choices you list, the better the chance of getting a match to a school. However, you should only apply to schools you want your child to attend.

What are the age cutoffs and birthdays for prospective Peabody students?

Age cutoff is the age a student needs to be in order to enroll in a specific grade by the school year to which they are applying. For school year 2021-22, applicants for:

  • PK3 must be 3 years old by September 30, 2021;

  • PK4 must be 4 years old by September 30, 2021; and

  • Kindergarten must be 5 years old by September 30, 2021.

If your child does not make the age cutoff you will not be able to enroll them in that grade.

What are the age cutoffs and birthdays for prospective Watkins students?
