Welcoming Back More Friends

Updated: Apr 24, 2021

This was a big week! We now have 233 students attending learning in person, 122 more students than last term. There are still a few more seats (see below) that we intend to fill by next week, but we are off to a great start in school and with virtual learning. Virtual class sizes back to “normal” levels and I expect students learning at home will also finish the school year strong.

DCPS plans to have full in person learning in the fall. Will all our families feel comfortable coming back? Our team has been reaching out to families to understand why they declined offers in term 3 and term 4. Many have reasons that are not related to school, but I know there are reasons that we still need to hear, understand, and discuss. I believe we must repair the relationship between school and families so that all families confidently send their children through our doors in the fall. Have a comment or idea to contribute to this effort? Please send me note at
